I’m not sure if I am asking the correct question or not.
Base of the question, we are a private school and recently we embarked on a project using filemaker where the students learnt about databases. There were 4 classes. Each class were given a mac mini to work with. Upon completion of the project, the principle tasked me to connect all the mac mins to the school domain and let the students access the mac mini from outside. Now my dilemma is how to connect and access them. I am thinking of using an old mac mini server (2012) and configure the dns from there but I am not sure how to configure it or is it possible as below.
WAN IP: 123.456.7.0
LAN IP: 10.0.1.1
Ip address of Mac Mini Server: 10.0.1.2
Ip address of Mac Mini 1: 10.0.1.3
Ip address of Mac Mini 2: 10.0.1.4
Ip address of Mac Mini 3: 10.0.1.5
Ip address of Mac Mini 4: 10.0.1.6
Planned web address of Mac Mini 1: www.class1.example.com
Planned web address of Mac Mini 2: www.class2.example.com
Planned web address of Mac Mini 3: www.class3.example.com
Planned web address of Mac Mini 4: www.class4.example.com
Example.com is currently pointed to 123.456.7.0 and hosted on namecheap
So if a student keys in class1.example.com
will go to 10.0.1.3
How do I setup the dns and the records in namecheap?
Appreciate your answers.
